Lazy Sunday... at the Beach

Yesterday, my friends and I were lucky enough to catch the last bit of the California heat before it disappeared once again into the overcast days the weather channel had scheduled for us. Unfortunately, there were no clear, blue skies to be had; however, there was enough sun to break out the shorts and tank tops. A far cry from the jeans, pea-coat, and scarf I donned today.

As it was St. Patty's Day, the primary goal was to drink. We started out at a small restaurant called Carmelita's on Broadway because my dear friend RH claimed it was cheap and delicious.

The restaurant was very classy and elegant, especially for being a hop, skip, and a jump away from the beach. Which begged the question, how cheap is it really?

The answer? Not very cheap at all. In fact, barely affordable for college students. And to make matters worse, the drinks- our primary purpose for being there- were rather gross as well. EJ couldn't even finish hers. She ordered the grilled pineapple margarita because it sounded refreshing. Little did we know the drink was full of spices and peppers. Literally, chopped peppers. No thank you...

After paying for our expensive lunch, walked the crowded streets for a good hour or so just enjoying the weather and each others' company... until I decided that something was missing from our little excursion. Gelato.

No warm summer-esque day in Laguna Beach is complete without some frozen Italian good-ness. So I promptly dragged my friends and loving boyfriend to the nearest gelato shop (Admittedly leaving them behind a couple times as they were slightly less enthusiastic about the destination) and ordered cookies and creme flavor. Best. Decision. Ever.

We finally left around 5p.m. to finish homework and take care of other responsibilities, but I think it's safe to say that Laguna Beach is always a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon.
